Bomb making must take a lot of discipline, which is perhaps why even the most horrendous terrorists use color coded wires. The most even Dennis Hopper did to confuse Keanu Reeves was to mix up the colors. These villains have seen the movies, and they know what will happen; why don’t they use just one color? The bomb disposal call center would be completely confused. All red wires? We are dealing with something else here!
Imagine we figured which Eloqua assets were connected to which dependencies. Wouldn’t we then just roll up our sleeves and get to archiving the unnecessary ones? Most of our instances are cluttered and we really would love to have a clean work environment, but what stops us is that we don’t know which wires are connected to what.
This need not be a problem anymore. With the Asset Dependency Manager (ADM), we have a tool that can highlight the assets that are in use and the ones that are obsolete. It will also highlight all the dependencies that can be archived along with the main asset. This is great because with some simple clicks, we can de-clutter our instance.
De-cluttering our instance has several advantages, and one of them is that the instance becomes nimble again; as good as new. Usually rendering a page takes time, populating the drop down boxes takes time, the right-click menu takes time and overall everything is just sluggish. The reason why Eloqua takes so much time to load certain screens is because there is a lot of data behind each of them, and rendering all of it takes time.
We can do something about this, but manually mapping all the assets and purging them takes time and is prone to errors.
One of the things that the ADM does beautifully is free up the custom contact fields. With some smart processing, it figures the ones that are still in use and the ones that can be safely deleted. Since Eloqua provides only about 250 custom contact fields, it is important to move the old ones and make room for the new ones. It does the same with pick-lists.
So, all those emails that have been building up and no one knows who could be using it, is not a mystery anymore. Those emails and all their dependencies that are clogging the system are analyzed by the ADM algorithm and marked for archiving, hence freeing the system and making it as responsive as when it was new.
Get in touch with us and we would love to show what we’ve built : )
