Clear Dependency & Delete

The process of clearing dependencies is to initiate the process of performing the actions defined in Manage Dependencies and also provide an option to delete the asset from Eloqua. Two options have been provided to the user.

  • Clear Dependency – This process performs the action specified in Manage Dependency. The parent asset whose dependencies are managed is not deleted from Eloqua in this case.
  • Clear Dependency & Delete – This process performs the action specified in Manage Dependency and then deletes the parent asset permanently from Eloqua.

To remove the dependencies of a particular asset: #

Users will click on the Clear Dependency button. The status will change to In Progress.

Once the package has finished processing the status of the package will be changed from In Progress to one of the post processing statuses. Refer to the link to understand package status. Current execution status of clear dependency is also shown in the package that gives the number of dependencies being removed/replaced Vs. total count of dependent assets.

NOTE: Users can navigate away from the package while the application processes the dependencies. If the user does not navigate from the package, a message box indicating Dependency processing is complete will pop up on the screen.

The user can verify the completed action by clicking on manage dependency. Note that only dependencies of the Eloqua asset is replaced/removed and the asset is not deleted. User can hover on the status for each of the dependency assets to get specific information wherever the statuses are ‘Action Unsupported’, ‘Asset Unavailable’, ‘Invalid Alternate Asset’.

To delete the Eloqua asset after removing dependencies: #
